Surgery
*All surgeries are performed at the discretion of the doctor.
Surgery prices are determined according to average surgical time and difficulty of procedure. The following prices are general ranges for routine surgeries. Personalized estimates are provided for all surgical procedures.
Spay
(Dogs $610 -$865 depending on age and weight, cats $430)
Spaying female pets is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of their reproductive organs (ovaries and uterus) that offers significant health benefits and is recommended for all female pets.
One of the most important health benefits of spaying is to reduce the risk of mammary and uterine cancer. Dogs who are spayed prior to their first heat cycle have a 0.5% risk of developing mammary cancer in their lifetime whereas dogs who are not spayed have as high as 50% risk of developing mammary cancer over their lifetime. Spaying prevents pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection. It can also prevent unwanted pregnancies, and can help manage certain behavioral issues associated with the heat cycle, such as aggression and desire to escape in search of a mate.
Every pet is unique, as such the age at which your pet should be spayed is unique to them. The correct timing of a spay is based on many factors including health history, breed, growth and development, behavior, and individual lifestyle. During your appointment our team will be happy to discuss timing and any other concerns or questions you have about spaying your pet.
Neuter
(Dogs $580-$670 depending on age and weight, cats $210)
Neutering male pets is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of their reproductive organs (testes). Neutering offers significant health benefits and is recommended for all male pets.
Some of the most important health benefits of neutering include the elimination of the risk of testicular cancer as well as the reduction of prostatic disease, i.e. prostatic enlargement, infection, or cancer. Neutering lowers the risk of prostatic cancer by approximately 60-80 %. Neutering eliminates the risk of unwanted pregnancies and can also help minimize behaviors driven by hormones, such as aggression, territorial marking, and roaming in search of a mate. Unneutered male dogs are the most common type of dog involved in hit-by-car accidents.
Every pet is unique, as such the age at which your pet should be neutered is unique to them. The correct timing of a neuter is based on many factors including health history, breed, growth and development, behavior, and individual lifestyle. During your appointment our team will be happy to discuss timing and any other concerns or questions you have about neutering your pet.

Post- Operative Options
Required:
All patients are required to go home with one or more protective option.
Elizabethan Collars – Elizabethan collars aka E-collars aka “cones” are a protective device placed around your pet’s neck to prevent them from licking, biting, or scratching at a specific area. They are typically used after surgery or injury. The collar is commonly made of hard plastic or fabric and has a cone-like shape that extends outward from the pet’s neck, preventing them from reaching the targeted area with their mouth. Traditional E-collars may be required based on surgical location (example eye surgery) or pet temperament. ($5.94- $9.31 depending on size)
Recovery Shirt – The recovery shirt is a specially designed shirt that covers, protects and supports your pet’s incision site during the recovery period after surgery. There are cutouts that allow your pet to go to the bathroom without having to be removed. The recovery shirt can prevent your pet from licking, biting, or scratching at their surgical site, as well as keeps the surgical site clean during recovery. Unlike traditional E-collars, the recovery shirt is more comfortable, allowing pets to move, eat and drink freely and rest more easily without the discomfort of hard plastic. Recovery shirts are generally better tolerated by pets. ($25.28- $30.24 depending on size)
* Traditional E-collars are still available upon request
*No device is 100% effective and all pets still require supervision after surgery.
Optional:
Post-op laser treatment – Red light laser therapy, is a non-invasive treatment used to help manage pain, reduce inflammation, and promote healing after surgery. Laser treatments are offered to post-op patients for a reduced price. ($20.00)
Laser treatments can be performed following all surgical and dental procedures where cancer is not suspected or present.
Microchipping – A pet microchip is a small, permanent form of identification for your pet about the size of a grain of rice. It’s safely implanted just under your pet’s skin, usually between the shoulder blades, using a quick and simple procedure similar to a routine vaccination. Each microchip contains a unique ID number that can be read with a special scanner used by veterinarians, animal shelters, police officers and rescue groups. When your pet is found, this ID number links to your contact information in a secure national database helping to quickly reunite you with your pet if they ever get lost. ($62.23)
Important to Know:
- Microchips are not GPS trackers and don’t show your pet’s location.
- Be sure to register the chip and keep your contact information up to date!
- Microchipping is safe, effective, and can be done at most vet clinics or adoption centers.
